The Mt Messenger Bypass project is on the move with the councils now calling for public submissions on the NZ Transport Agency’s RMA applications to build the bypass.

This project is vital for business and ongoing economic growth in the region,
so please join us for lunch to learn more about the new route and applications.

Submissions for the Mt Messenger Bypass RMA applications close on Tuesday 27 February 2018.

Mãori & Coastal Style Market Day

The purpose for this Market Day is to fundraise for ngã morehu to attend the 100 years celebration of Tahupotiki Wiremu Ratana founder of Te Haahi Ratana commemoration on 8 November 2018

All volunteer entertainers most welcome.

Venue: Orimupiko Marae, Eltham Road, Opunake
Date: Sunday 25 February 2018
Time: 9am to 5pm


4:30 am - Introduction at Orimupiko Marae for voluntary workers

5:00 am - Setuo of stalls. Entry $10 pay at the gate

6.55 am - KAITIAKI WHAKAMOEMITI (bell ringer) all to assemble in front of the Marae before second bell stops ringing.

7:00 am - WHAKAMOEMITI (church service) conducted Apotoro Wairua Punui Whitu, (Spiritual Apostle). Nga Awhina Gabrielle Whitu, Ngaroimata Tioko (Sisters of Mercy) and others are more than welcome to join in.

8:00 am - POWHIRI conducted by Jonathan Murray, John Hooker supported by Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Tamarongo. WHAKATAU Meet & Greet

8:30 am - Cuppa Tea

9:00 am - Market starts

9:00 - 10:55 am - NGA WHAKANGAHAU: Te Kohanga Reo o Te Namu. Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Tamarongo, Opunake Primary School
